Why Choose a Small Greenhouse?
A smaller greenhouse can be the perfect fit for a number of situations, such as:
- Urban or size-limited gardens. In places where space is at a premium, a small greenhouse can help those with green fingers continue to pursue their hobby. Our small models can easily fit into compact spaces such as corners and alleyways.
- For novices and beginners. If you’re just starting out with growing, you might not want or need a huge building. A small greenhouse provides the ideal solution, allowing your passion to flourish without being too big or cumbersome.
- Extra capacity. Maybe you’ve already got a fully-fledged greenhouse - and just want some extra growing room!
What materials are our small greenhouses made from?
We have a selection of mini greenhouses with wooden and metal versions readily available. For windows, all our greenhouses use safe and cost-effective plastic polycarbonate glazing.
What can you grow in a small greenhouse?
Most mini greenhouses can still support tall plants such as tomato vines and potted trees, as these greenhouses are only smaller horizontally. The only exception to this would be a portable greenhouse which has a frame of shelves - these will only fit small potted plants and seed trays.
Generally, your small greenhouse will still enable you to grow a good few exotic plants, as well as to support more common UK plants through winter. As long as they won’t grow out of the ceiling or spread to a large horizontal space, you will have room.
Does a small greenhouse need a base or foundation?
Most greenhouses come without a floor, so that water can escape easily when plants have been watered. All of our small models can be placed directly on a solid, level surface with adequate drainage, although you can give it a raised base if you wish to.
